How the Plastic Pelletizing Process Works
From waste plastic to high-quality recycled pellets — our extrusion system enables a complete recycling transformation.
Step 1: Crushing & Shredding
Waste plastic materials are fed into a crusher or shredder to reduce particle size. Uniform crushing ensures stable feeding for the extrusion system and improves melting efficiency. Heavy-duty cutting tools process film, rigid and bulky plastic waste effectively.
Step 2: Screw Feeder Conveying
Crushed plastic is conveyed to the extruder by a forced screw feeder with variable speed control. The screw feeder ensures continuous and uniform material supply to the extruder barrel, preventing bridging and surging for consistent throughput.
Step 3: Extrusion & Melting
Material is melted and homogenized in the extruder barrel through multi-zone heating and screw shearing action. The extrusion system maintains precise temperature control across heating zones for optimal melt quality and consistent viscosity.
Step 4: Vacuum Degassing
The vacuum degassing system removes moisture, gases, and volatile impurities from the molten plastic. Dual vacuum vent ports ensure high purity of final pellets by extracting contaminants that would otherwise affect pellet quality and mechanical properties.
Step 5: Water Ring Pelletizing
Melted plastic is extruded through a die plate and cut into uniform pellets by rotating blades in a water ring chamber. The water ring cutting system produces spherical pellets with consistent size. Strand pelletizing is also available for engineering plastics and filled compounds.
Step 6: Drying & Packaging
Hot pellets are dewatered and dried through a centrifugal dryer and vibrating screen to remove surface moisture. The drying system ensures final pellets have less than 0.1% moisture content before automatic packaging into bags or storage containers.
